Just scored a 283 standard bore short block out of a 61 vette. It came with an extra set of rods and a new set of forged .060 TRW pistons for the 315hp fuelie motor and a new cam for the 315hp set up. I'm wondering if it would be wise to bore the block .060 and use the TRW's or to go with new pistons and less bore.Is there a chart that shows what a 283 bore would be .30 over and .60 over? It is easy with the 327, 302 and 350... it is 4.000, 4.030, 4.060 etc. I have a 283 but son't know what the standard bore is or what 30 or 60 over would be.
