In our opinion there isn't a better or more convenient place to stay in historic Galena. On Main Street in the heart of the tourist-happy shopping district. The DeSoto House Hotel is a beautiful old hotel. All the staff is friendly and helpful. The food at their restaurants is very good, in fact their burger is awesome! However, our room smelled musty (smell came through the air vents). I even got air freshener from the cleaning staff to use in the room.
