Even new Trane systems don't last. Lennox sucks. Carrier sucks. They all are engineered to last 10-15 years. That's why I prefer the best cheap option, which in my opinion is Goodman. 16. Now, based on my extremely professional, authoritative, expert opinion, there are 3… no actually 4 key frameworks that - if you master - will unlock the secrets of the annoyingly super-productive engineering student. 1. Learning to play the game. Engineering school is a game. And like most games, it has rules, a score, and levels.Get good grades, network, get a great paying job that you enjoy, invest intelligently, save, meet guy or gal, have life you only now can dream of. You're in college for a difficult degree. Do yourself and your future family/significant other a favor and concentrate on that for now. The rest will come. 1.Granted we may not make as much as other engineers, there’s still a healthy market with good job prospects out there for a new grad. There will be heavy investment in the country’s infrastructure within the next two decades. Yeah, you don’t get into civil engineering if all you care about is money, there’s easier ways to make money ... More specifically to Case: You have a core of engineering classes (1 in each major subject: CS, MechE, EE, MatSci, and ChemE) and you will probably be behind on your major track requirements a little bit. Major-specific classes and general engineering type classes from your old school usually won't transfer over.

Real estate agents, clients and colleagues have posted some hilarious stories on Reddit filled with all the juicy details about the most out-of-the-ordinary things they have experien...My only thought that’s different from the other comments might be to use language as a leverage. I have a degree completely unrelated to engineering my but got a job that “requires a bs in electrical engineering degree” by knowing the companies home country language fluently, having job experience, and a strong interest in what their doing.

So many engineering programs expect you to be taking 18 credit hours per semester in order to graduate in 4 years. I just wanna say that 12 hours is full time and there is nothing wrong with that. If you're set on dropping out/switching majors, I understand, but maybe try taking some pressure off before making that decision.A typical engineering student has 5 classes per week, and I would recommend spending 50 hours per week studying, yielding 10 hours per week per class, which can be adjusted based on which classes are easier vs. harder. Sometimes 60-90 hour weeks will be necessary, but you chose engineering, so don't complain, just prepare.

Knowledge of basic to intermediate electrical engineering principles is fundamental. It's a pain in the ass but if you want to be a good engineer (mechanical or otherwise), you'll have to suck it up and grasp as much as you can while you still can. At the end of the day, mechanical and electrical engineering go hand in hand. For me the more annoying engineer stereotype are the arrogant, cocky ones. The ones that have a weird superiority complex about their major, talk down to everyone, and feel absolutely compelled to correct every tiny mistake when the end goal is implied. My only thought that’s different from the other comments might be to use language as a leverage. I have a degree completely unrelated to engineering my but got a job that “requires a bs in electrical engineering degree” by knowing the companies home country language fluently, having job experience, and a strong interest in what their doing. Students still fail, and dynamics definitely seems to be a "weed out" class just on the pure difficulty of the subject.
