EDIT #2 (9/3/13): Thanks again for all your suggestions on how to better appreciate Naked Lunch. I read through another few passages out of order, and I did enjoy the surreal humor of it a bit more. I think the factor that ruins most of the book for me is Burroughs' rampant self-hating repressed homosexuality.
